GSC / Making good even better

Each year, we roll up our sleeves and work on an ongoing project tightly glued to our hearts: Gala Societății Civile, the amplest project dedicated to Romanian civil society.

In 2016, the GSC foundation needed to communicate that the efforts of the people involved in the Gala are long-lasting, and aren’t summed up by one sole night, namely the yearly competition. The organizers, the volunteers, and the people involved in the projects promoted by GSC work relentlessly day and night to support the good things that happen in Romania. Moreover, the GSC website will have a new redesign to celebrate its 15th anniversary and reposition itself as the most prominent daily source of good news from Romania.

CONCEPT

The good in Romania is being built each and every day. And is awarded on one night only. / Binele din România se construiește în fiecare zi. Și se premiază într-o singură seară.

The key visual is a reinterpretation of GSC’s logo. Here, the man is not only going up the stairs but is also preparing his next step, by placing yet another block. This reinstates that his strive for doing good never actually stops, but also that the view is even better from higher up.

The aesthetics remind us of the Italian futurism genre, with a bright colour scheme, suggesting the optimism with which we like to envision the future of good in Romania.

INSIGHT

The efforts of GSC towards a better future for the Romanian civil society are 365 days/year, 7 days/week. The competition and the awarding gala are just the pinnacles of these efforts.

The 14th edition of Gala Societății Civile took place on the 6th of June, with Mircea Toma as a host and brought along important guests, such as Romanian Prime Minister, Dacian Cioloș. The edition summed up 203 enrolled projects and awarded 56 of them, ranging from different categories, such as health, education, and environment. The grand winner was Asociația OvidiuRo for the law “Fiecare copil în grădiniță” (Every child in kindergartens).
